Preliminary

Assessment

With some relatively basic information, Arctic Roadways can calculate an approximate cost comparison between using only soil vs. using geofoam in your project.  To that end, we would review your proposed project and integrate geofoam design parameters as well as geofoam material, installation, and construction costs specific to the project location.

The typical intent of the preliminary assessment is to determine if geofoam will be a cost-effective solution for the project, although there may be other reasons to use the material as described in Benefits of Geofoam. To provide cost information, for example,  we will need to understand thermal resistance requirements to determine geofoam thickness,  type and amount of ground surface loads to determine the compressive strength of the geofoam, and proximity of the project site to an adequate soil site to calculate gravel costs.

We may be able to assist with more detailed cost and design information, for example, detailed transient 2D and 3D modeling, but this service will likely not be included with the free preliminary assessment.  If more details are desired, we can help you identify design engineering firm options that have experience with the project of interest.
